Q: say how do you connect 8 camera when the back shows only 4 cameras for the connection?



A: if you want to connect 8 security cameras in a 4 channel security DVR, you need quad splitter to split the signal.

4-channel DVR gives 4 windows for each camera. Since you use a quad splitter, one window will be splitted to be 4 windows again. Record as 4 windows together.

advantage, you saved cost.
disadvantage, the image becomes smaller, because of the split.
